    So much attention and focus for employers has been on managing healthcare costs and complying with health care reform while the company retirement plan has taken a back seat and could be at risk of failing.  With traditional pensions that guarantee lifetime income in retirement being replaced with define contribution plans, our country’s retirement system is in crisis due to only half of private-sector workers having access to a company retirement plan, even less participate and maximize their savings potential and most make poor investment decisions.  This presentation will focus on the key attributes of a successful plan and practical behavioral finance solutions to help plan sponsors increase plan success, increase successful outcomes for plan participants and attract the talent they need to be successful.

    For nearly 20 years, Mike Pierce, a thought leader in the retirement plan  industry, has been helping business owners, HR managers, CEOs and Retirement Plan Committees find cost-effective solutions to their companies’ retirement plan needs.  The result of Mike’s work is a retirement plan program that uses tools, processes and structure to ensure that well-informed decision-making produces a high probability of success.  Throughout his career Mike has received high accolades for his commitment to quality and service evidenced by his numerous leadership and sales achievement awards.  Mike’s professional designations include Chartered Life Underwriter, Registered Health Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant awarded by the American College, Bryn Mawr, PA, and Accredited Investment Fiduciary awarded by the Center of Fiduciary Studies.

    Before starting Pierce Financial Group Inc., Mike spent 15 years providing retirement plan consulting to employers as an executive with a property and causality firm.  Mike also served in the United States Army, serving our country during Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield.  Today Mike utilizes the discipline and leadership skills learned during his time spent in the military to provide his clients with the best solutions and service available.  A strong believer in giving back to the community, Mike is a past president of the Rotary, has served on many boards including the Chamber of Commerce, and a local non-profit organization providing shelter to homeless individuals and families.  Mike has also served as a Big Brother with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.  In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with his wife Adelle and their daughter Olivia.

    This program has been approved for one (1) General recertification credit toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
