    Speaker Information:

    Janine Dunn, SHRM-SCP &SPHR - CT SHRM State Certification Director

    Janine is the HR Certification Director for the Connecticut SHRM State Council and is the past State Director of that organization. She is a human resources professional with over 25 years of human resources experience in all areas of HR. She is currently the Senior Director, HR for Thames Valley Council for Community Action, Inc., a human services nonprofit agency serving Eastern Connecticut, ran her own HR consulting company and was the human resources director for organizations in a variety of industries. She holds a Master of Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware.

    Debbie Perry, SHRM-SCP &SPHR

    As Director, Certification, SOCT SHRM, Debbie is responsible for encouraging chapter members’ professional certification and recertification to promote professional development, improve performance and enhance career advancement in the Human Resources.  As an HR Consultant, Debbie provides HR guidance and her areas of expertise include talent development, succession planning, performance management, compensation and coaching. Her expertise was developed over 25 years with IBM. She was a Senior Human Resources Partner/US Northeast Region, where she served as a trusted advisor to over 100 executives and managers of 4 diverse business units. She was responsible for implementation of innovative human resource solutions relating to employee relations, compensation, talent development, employee satisfaction and workforce management. She also held the roles of Workforce Talent Partner, and US Resources Manager and Sr. Compensation Specialist among others. Debbie also serves on the Tri State SHRM Conference Committee.

    Attendees will be provided an overview of the new SHRM certifications, SHRM-Certified Professional and the SHRM-Senior Certified Professional, a comparison to the HRCI certifications, and will review the documentation provided by SHRM and HRCI, including eligibility guidelines, testing windows, fees and requirements to recertify. In addition, you will:

    • Learn what steps you should take if you currently hold valid HRCI credentials - PHR, SPHR, or GPHR, and gather information regarding the SHRM Pathway process first-hand, which will allow you to earn the new SHRM credits at no additional cost during 2015.
