Invest in your ability to support others and strengthen your workplace by attending Mental Health First Aid training at SMECO—offered free to chapter members through a partnership between SMECO and Southern Maryland SHRM (HRASM).
This impactful, in-person course equips you with the tools to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges—an increasingly critical skill, as nearly 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year.
Participants will learn the proven ALGEE action plan, empowering you to assess risk, listen nonjudgmentally, and guide individuals toward appropriate support. With multiple session dates in June and July at SMECO locations in Hughesville and Leonardtown, this is a valuable professional development opportunity for HR professionals and leaders alike.
Registration is required and offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. Space may fill quickly (20 seats per class, 1 session per person), so register as soon as possible to secure your spot and make a meaningful difference in your organization and community.
